Please don't make the driver [faceless white guy #1003] again. How about a female driver? Or at least a choice. It's 2014, man. White guy can't keep being the default. I know it has no bearing on driving, but come on.

A choice would be nice indeed. Either that or stuff him/her/it in a driving suit and let us pick colors, helmets and liveries.

Yeah, that's what makes me doubt anything beyond the color of the character's jacket will be considered.

I mean, he was mute (completely?) in 1, and to be honest there wasn't really a plot or any scrap of characterization happening.

Palette-swaps can't be that taxing. I mean, I'm sure they aren't but they probably just aren't important to the devs.

Yeah, like in Real Racing 3, where everyone wears the same white suit... The developers recently put out a questionnaire for players to gauge what people are expecting from future updates, and more cars and player customization are at the very top of the list.

I want a true race driver X no narrative is needed for open world racing games it has consistently made it worse compare TDU1 to TDU2 to see just how bad it can get.

You actually get a helmet when racing, even though it looks out of place.

That's only for part of the game (arguably not the largest part, either). When you're cruising and enjoying yourself you have to live with the choices the devs made for you.

That's a good point.

I know a plot and characterization aren't necessary for a car game, but it would be such a cool change to see a different type of main character.
